come on our journey ... nutrient dense food
Our chickens live a wonderful life!
Pastured Eggs:
Pastured eggs mean our chickens live among grass and pasture, where they can engage in natural behaviors like foraging. Chickens are omnivores, and while they eat grass, they also consume bugs, worms, and insects, which provide essential proteins and fats that enhance their health and egg quality. This natural diet helps to produce eggs with higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins like A and E. Additionally, the chickens' access to fresh air and sunlight boosts their vitamin D levels, which is important for their bone health and the quality of their eggs. Combined with fresh water, chemical-free and NON-GMO feed, and the watchful care of our Guard Dogs Billie, Willow and Lola, this ensures that our chickens live stress-free lives, resulting in the highest quality eggs.
Moved Regularly:
Every 3-4 days, our chickens are moved to fresh grass, ensuring they always have clean, pathogen-free environments. This frequent relocation is key to preventing the buildup of harmful bacteria and parasites that could otherwise thrive in a stationary environment. By moving the chickens regularly, they are less likely to be exposed to parasites and pathogens that can accumulate in a static environments, such as in their droppings. This keeps their living space clean and their manure is evenly spread across the pasture. This manure acts as a natural fertilizer, rich in nitrogen, which is essential for plant growth. The decomposition of this organic matter also improves soil structure, enhancing its ability to retain moisture and support microbial life.
Chemical-Free Food:
Our chickens are fed chemical-free food produced by Regenerative Grain Growers. This is high in protein, which is crucial for the chickens' overall health, including muscle development and egg production. Protein is also essential for the formation of strong eggshells, as it helps in the absorption of calcium. The rich yolks and firm whites of our eggs are a direct result of the balanced nutrition provided plus the fresh foraging, which contribute to the overall quality of the eggs.
Regenerative farm eggs tend to taste better than regular egg......This is so clever, Mother Natures plays a big part. Its due to several factors related to the farming practices that prioritize soil health, animal husbandry, and natural ecosystems
Diverse Diet for Chickens:
Chickens on regenerative farms often have access to diverse, nutrient-rich diets. Our chickens are free to forage, eating not only grains and seeds but also insects, worms, and various plants. This varied diet builds up a strong immune system and leads to richer, more flavorful eggs. Happy Eggs for sure.
Healthier, Happier Chickens:
Regenerative farms emphasise animal welfare, and husbandry ensuring chickens have plenty of space to roam and live in more natural conditions. Our girls are moved to fresh pastures every 3-4 days giving them fresh food choices. Changing their environment frequently provides our chickens with new surroundings to explore, keeping them mentally stimulated and reducing stress which improves their overall well-being. This variety leads to better nutrition and stronger immune systems. This in turn reduces stress, better health and contributes to the quality of the eggs.
Higher Nutrient Content:
Because of the chickens’ varied and natural diet, regenerative farm eggs often have higher nutrient levels, including vitamins A, D, and E, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants. This leads to a richer, more vibrant flavor in the yolk and overall egg. Our eggs are considered to be a multivitamin bomb:)... with real food nutrition the body knows what to do with.
Soil Health:
The farming methods used in regenerative agriculture improve soil health, which enhances the nutrient quality of the food grown or raised on the land. Our soils are full of complexity and diversity. Healthier soil leads to healthier plants, which in turn nourishes our chickens better, resulting in better-tasting eggs.
Freshness:
Eggs from regenerative farms are often fresher because they’re sold locally. Templeton Lane eggs are hand collected daily, packed, prepared and produced on a smaller scale. Fresher eggs tend to have a more pronounced flavor and better texture.
All of these factors together contribute to our superior taste and quality eggs from our regenerative farm compared to regular eggs produced in more conventional systems.
